TOR and the Dark Art of Anonymity past Lance Henderson is a practiced primer for those new to the concept of The Onion Router (TOR) network. Reading it in mid-2020, unfortunately highlights how quickly things modify in the earth of It and Cyber in particular. TOR and the Dark Art of Anonymity was originally published in 2015 and, as a result, is no longer current in detail. TOR and the Nighttime Fine art of Anonymity is a good, quick read for anyone interested in learning about TOR. While perchance a bit more paranoid than necessary, it conveys to both the novice and intermediate user the criticality of exercising circumspection when using TOR or visiting sites on the Darknet.

Good tech pointers but lacks structure

It provides a lot of practiced tech instructions as what to do and to avoid, if you lot are starting in the anonymity road.
Overall, I constitute it a bit confusing since information technology simply seemed similar a bunch of topics the writer remembered, and and then but wrote some content about it.
Buy if you lot want to start experimenting. To learn more on how it works, better to discover an alternative.

Talks about the tools and the technologies for people to repossess their correct to privacy. Does not delve into the cryptographic technicalities, so this is neat for laymen.
Touches on freenet, tails, and a few others equally well.

It's a light book that tells about the tor and related to that for setting upward that and some culling to Big Brothers that can you save from fingerprinting and privacy-related stuff. It was a scrap generic, non deep enough to requite yous actionable pace by step technical instructions (:D). So information technology's not practical just theoretical. Very informative with a very layman's approach, in a good way.

I greatly enjoyed the humor. Was taught a lot of essential data. I will be suggesting this read to many more than people.

Good Reference for Anonymous Browsing

Very skillful rundown of the dark net and what it takes to be anonymous online these days. He makes a very skillful point nigh beingness careful about what you mail online virtually yourself publicly and the need to keep most personal data private.

An "ok" volume on the subject of Tor, PGP, encryption and online privacy vs anonymity (ii very different things). If you're looking for a ground-upward introduction, look elsewhere. Henderson's intended audience is not clear: in some cases he glosses right over concepts a novice would need a basic introduction to, assuming the reader knows exactly what he'due south talking about; in other cases he agonizingly breaks relatively uncomplicated concepts down as if explaining to his grandmother; without consistency. This volume is meant for someone with some background in cyber security and information science. If this doesn't utilise to you there is notwithstanding useful information that volition ship you down the right lines of inquiry. I would recommend reading something more elementary instead. The prose is also quite poor, merely what practise you expect from an author such equally this? At some point it becomes endearing and he does write clearly.

Aardige intro, wel snel verouderd. Toch wat opgestoken. Niet zo geschikt als luisterboek.

Yous demand to know the basic of the field of study earlier to read it.

This book is not for novices. It is well written but y'all need to have at least a basic knowledge of the subject field.
